Health Care Workers In Bomet County Signs Salary Deal
Health care workers in Bomet County will be smiling all the way to Bank come January 2017 after signing an Agreement with the County Government on salary increment.
Union Representatives of Doctors and Nurses and other allied health care workers comprising of Clinical Officers who have no unions at the National level to fight for their welfare signed the salary Agreement deal today at the County headquarters sealing the week long negotiations with the County Administration on salary increment.
In the deal which was witnessed by H.E Governor Isaac Ruto, Doctors were awarded a salary increment of 15 % thus making the lowest paid Doctor earning a gross salary of shs 161,000 in job group N.
Entry point for Doctors in Bomet County is Job Group N whose salary is pegged at shs 146,000, one job group higher than their colleagues in National and other County Governments whose entry is Job Group M and who earns shs 141,000.
Nurses were awarded 7% salary increment on top of the shs 20,000 awarded last week.
This makes the lowest paid nurse in Job group G earning shs 71,000 while the highest paid nurse in job group P will get shs 134,000.
Other cadres of staff comprising Clinical Officers, lab technologist among others got a salary increment of 10%.
