Presentation of the Certificate of appointment to H.E Mwai Kibaki, CGH , as UNESCO's Special Envoy for Water in Africa

Chairman, Council of Governors, H.E Peter Munya attended the presentation of the Certificate of appointment to H.E Mwai Kibaki, CGH, The Third President of Kenya as UNESCO's Special Envoy for Water in Africa held at his Nyari office.
Present at the ceremony was the Cabinet Secretary for Water and Irrigation Hon. Eugene Wamalwa, Principal Secretary National Water Services Prof. Fred K. Segor, UNESCO Regional Director Mr. Mohammed Djelid, representative of Ambassadors H.E Kelebert Nkomani, representatives from Millennium Water Alliance- Kenya, representatives from Ground Water Resources, Chairman of Water Services Trust Fund, Hon. Musikari Kombo, Mwai Kibaki's family among others.
The designation of H.E Mwai Kibaki as UNESCO's special for Water in Africa which took place on April 5, 2016 in Paris France broadly targets to raise awareness about UNESCO's initiatives that contribute to the Sustainable Development Goal No. 6. The goal specifically seeks to ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all. H.E Mwai Kibaki is expected to ensure that UNESCO's message is heard worldwide.
H.E Peter Munya speaking during the ceremony was happy and delighted to be associated with the former president in making water accessible to all in Africa.
