Nakuru CountyNakuru County Governor H.E Hon Lee Kinyanjui on 21st February launched two major water projects in Solai, Rongai Sub-County. The Governor, was accompanied by Water Chief Administrative Secretary Winnie Guchu, launched the Chepkulul and Emarangishu water projects funded by World Vision. Chepkulul project has a capacity of 50 cubic metres per hour while Emarangishu has 75 cubic meter capacity. “I commend World Vision for partnering with Nakuru County to solve water shortage,” said Gocernor Kinyanjui.
The Governor said the County will fund piping of water in Solai to ensure every homestead benefits. He affirmed that County Government of Nakuru supports the Big Four agenda by the National Government but it's important to note water plays a crucial role in achieving them. “We need water in manufacturing, agriculture and when we construct houses, water, supply is a must,” he said. Water Chief Administrative Secretary Winnie Guchu who was present at the two launches said the ministry will partner with Rift Valley Water Services Board to find ways to end water shortage. Earlier in his office, Governor Kinyanjui met with Baringo Governor H.E Hon. Stanley Kiptis, Ms Guchu and National World Vision National Director Francois Batalingaya. In the meeting, the two Governors discussed how they can partner to solve the water shortage the two counties face. They discussed expansion of existing projects sponsored by World Vision in areas that border the two counties such as Waseges and Solai to ensure adequate water supply in both counties. The CAS and World Vision assured the Governors that combining their efforts would ensure quick execution of long term water projects in both counties.
