MITCThe Council of Governors held a consultative meeting to discuss the Kenya trade policy with the aim of transforming Kenya to a competitive Export Led and Efficient domestic Economy.

The meeting resolved to writing a memorandum to the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Cooperatives to address the legal and technical shortcomings of the current draft. This will correctly position counties' as a center of investment and correspond to the new 2010 constitution on the devolution of local trade.

In attendance was H.E Gerald Githinji (Deputy Governor, Kiambu County), County Executive members in charge of trade, representative from the State Department of Trade Mr. Joseah Rotich, Consultant from the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Cooperatives Mr. Bernard Kagira, Legal consultant and technical members from the Council of Governors secretariat.
