Following the General Elections held on 9th August 2022, Kenyans elected amongst others their County Leadership. In this regard, the newly elected Governors will form the Council of Governors during the tenure of 2022-2027. The Council of County Governors (COG) is a non-partisan organization established under Section 19 of the Intergovernmental Relations Act (IGRA 2012) and consists of Governors from 47 County Governments.
Our mandate is to provide a mechanism for consultation amongst County Governments, share information on the performance of the counties in the execution of their functions, facilitate capacity building for Governors, and consider reports from other intergovernmental forums on National and County interests, among other functions (Section 20).
