The County Government of Narok in partnership with the Ministry of Lands and Physical Planning and The National Land Commission is currently carrying out an exercise to formalize/regularize untitled plots and public utilities with Narok Town in preparation for the issuance of Title Deeds in accordance to the approved Narok Town Zoning Plan No. 112 of 2016.
The exercise kicked off on Tuesday, 14th December, 2021 and members of the public have been issued with a 30 days’ notice through newspaper advert and radio announcements to submit their comments or objections within the notice period for consideration.
The Hon Vivian Sereti, the CEC Member in charge of Land, Housing, Physical Planning & Urban Development is leading the exercise accompanied by Manager of Narok Municipality Stanley Koriata, Director of Land Administration at the National Lands Commission Mercy Njamwea , Principal Land Administration Officer Muthoni Ngaruthi, National Lands Commission Coordinator for Narok Susan Kidemi, John Maina Deputy Director of Survey Ministry of Lands and Physical Planning and PA to the Chairman National Land Commission Hezron Alela.
Seven groups of land surveyors and other technical officers are scheduled to conduct the verification and validation exercise on the 11 Blocks within Narok – and have already completed Block 5, Block 7 Block and 6. The exercise is expected to run until the 23rd December 2021.
The regularization of untitled plots and public utilities with Narok Town is taking place pursuant to the provisions of the Constitution of Kenya 2010, County Governments Act (2012), the Physical and Land Use Planning Act (2019), the Urban Areas and Cities Act (2011), National Lands Commission Act (2012) and other relevant statutes.
