The first day of the Deputy Governors' Conference kicked off with 30 Deputy Governors in attendance . The Vice Chairman of the Council of Governors, H.E Salim Mvurya (Governor, Kwale County) graced the occasion. Institutions represented included; The Kenya School of Government, The World Bank and The State Department of Devolution which was represented by the Principal Secretary Ms. Mwanamaka Mabruki.

The day's session consisted of group work, experimental exercises and an expert panel session. The expert panel session consisted of Linus Gitahi, KEPSA Director and FKE Chairman and Julius Owino popularly known as Juliani who shared about the youth and their perception and role in the devolution process.
